TUNIS, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The Assembly of the People's Representatives, or Tunisian parliament, approved Tuesday an agreement with African Development Bank (ADB) on a loan to fund the "Digital Tunisia 2020" project.

The credit, 71 million euros (83 million U.S. dollars), will be repaid over 19 years with a grace period of 6 years.

It will be used to finance the "Digital Tunisia 2020" project, a strategic national plan developed by Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy.

Spreading over the period 2018-2022, the overall cost of this project amounts to 135 million euros. The ADB will provide almost 53 percent of the investment, while the rest will be funded by Tunisian government.

This project aims to develop digital governance as well as a digital system for Tunisia's industrial and commercial sectors.
