????BEIJING, January 25 (ChinaMil) -- 2015 annual conference on world military situation was held in Beijing on January 21, 2016. More than 100 experts from the Academy of Military Sciences of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) discussed the new global security situations and new international military trends.
????The annual conference on world military situation is held by the Foreign Military Research Department of the Academy of Military Sciences of the PLA. At this annual conference, 11 famous military experts successively delivered speeches on some cutting-edge issues, such as the security situations in the Asian-Pacific region, Europe and the Middle East, the military development trends of such major countries as the U.S., Russia, Japan and India, hot issues in the surrounding areas, military strategy adjustment, development of war and operation theories, new trend of the reform of the national defense system, and innovation of military technologies.
????The experts present at the conference believed that the current military development in the world is at a critical time node, and the theme of peaceful development remains unchanged, but the struggle for redistribution among various forces tends to be intense, and the competition concerning national security interests tends to become apparent.
????The military situation in the world is stable with slight changes, competition among major countries intensifies from time to time, regional conflicts and contradictions seem endless, the focus of competition has shifted from the strategic level to the operational and tactic level, and the struggle over the Ukraine crisis and Syria issues among the U.S., Europe and Russia have been intensified, according to the experts.
