6.6-magnitude quake hits Southwest of Africa -- USGS

NEW YORK, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted Southwest of Africa at 16:03:03 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 53.0501 degrees south latitude and 9.6447 degrees east longitude.
