ISLAMABAD, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani law enforcement agencies on Saturday arrested a facilitator in connection with the terrorist attack on a hostel in the northwestern city of Peshawar last year, local Urdu media reported.
The attack at a hostel in side the Agricultural Training Institute killed 11 people and injured 37 others on Dec. 1, 2017.
The banned militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed the attack. Both Pakistani police and military officials said the attackers had been coordinating with handlers based in Afghanistan.
According to media reports, the counter-terrorism department (CTD) of police in the country's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province launched an operation in Larama area of Peshawar and arrested the accused on a tip-off.
According to the officials from CTD, the man identified as Muhammad Yasir was taken into custody and belongs to Bajaur Agency, one of the seven tribal areas stretching along the Pakistan-Afghan border.
The suspect has been shifted to an undisclosed location and is currently being interrogated.
On Dec. 11 last year, six terrorists suspected of being involved in the attack were arrested during raids in the adjoining areas of Charsadda and Mohmand Agency in the province, said local police officials.
