Chinese shares close higher at midday Monday

BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.55 percent to end at 3,180.8 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.6 percent to end at 10,697.81 points.
