FRANKFURT, May 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 26.29 points, or 0.20 percent, to close at 12,996.33 points.
Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.59 percent. Pharmaceutical company Merck and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer rose by 1.88 percent and 1.45 percent respectively.
Commerzbank lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 5.71 percent. Deutsche Bank and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group went down by 1.99 percent and 1.58 percent respectively.
German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most-traded share with a turnover of 246.71 million euros (290.72 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
