SARAJEVO, May 20 (Xinhua) -- At an election rally held in Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) capital on Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Turkish citizens living all over Europe to unite.
At the 6th General Assembly of Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD), Erdogan sent strong message in his 45 minute-long addressing to some 15,000 visitors at an indoor multi-purpose arena in central Sarajevo.
Erdogan stressed that European Turks need to be harmonious and unified, and that it will eventually result in their strength. He said that the number of people in one country is not important, but the unification between them.
Erdogan continued by calling all Turkish citizens to stand united. He said that the European Turks have the task to take the citizenship of the country they live in, but not to lose their rights in Turkey.
He continued his speech by enumerating major achievements by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in spheres of opening new airports and new embassies.
Referring to legislative and presidential elections that will take place on June 24, Erdogan emphasized that there is an opportunity for members of Turkish diaspora, especially youth, to vote at embassies and border crossings, and that the citizens should use their right and go to elections.
Erdogan arrived here Sunday on a working visit and an election rally as part of the campaign for parliamentary and presidential elections on June 24.
