XINING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- An ongoing carpet exhibition in northwest China's Qinghai Province has received traders from more than 30 countries.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the provincial government, the 2018 China (Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition is being held in Xining, capital of Qinghai, from June 2 to 6.
Activities at the exhibition include displays of carpets from across the world, forums, cooperation, and exchanges related to carpet manufacturing, culture, and trade.
More than 400 domestic enterprises and nearly 250 companies from 34 countries and regions have attended the exhibition.
"This is the ninth time that I've attended the exhibition. I have learned a lot about the Chinese carpet market, which has provided me many cooperation opportunities," said Maddie, a dealer from Iran.
"After 14 years of development, the exhibition, with more than 90 percent of its products are handmade, has become one of the most important carpet trade platforms and barometers in both China and the world," said Li Yalin, deputy head of the provincial commerce department.
Statistics released by the provincial economic and information commission showed that carpet made in Qinghai have been exported to 22 countries and regions. The output of Qinghai carpet accounted for more than 90 percent of China's total between 2011 and 2015.
