French shares drop 1.48 pct on Wednesday

PARIS, July 11 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.48 percent, or 80.43 points, to close at 5,353.93 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 35 lost in the day.

French international retailer Carrefour, was down 4.87 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French international luxury group Kering lost 3.81 percent. The international steel producer Arcelor Mittal lost 3.68 percent.

Accor Hotel, international hotel group rose 0.30 percent, while French international energy management company Veolia rose 0.08 percent. French life service provider Sodexo was up 0.07 percent. Enditem
