French shares gain 0.43 pct on Friday

PARIS, July 13 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.43 percent, or 23.30 points, to close at 5,429.20 points.

27 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

International tire producer Michelin advanced 2.59 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French luxury group LVMH rose 2.28 percent, followed by European aviation group Airbus which gained 2.15 percent.

French telecommunication group Orange went down by 0.78 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French mobile service provider Vinci lost 0.65 percent, while international pharmaceutical group Sanofi edged down 0.44 percent. Enditem
