        IAEA says not to take any information at face value in nuclear verification

        VIENNA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The UN nuclear agency on Tuesday said it would not change the manner of nuclear investigation of Iran's nuclear plan under the historic nuclear deal.

        The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano made the statement in response to Israel's call for going further to some Iranian sites to strengthen the nuclear inspection of Tehran's nuclear plan, saying the agency would not change the way of the verification of Iran's atomic plan.

        "It should be noted that under the existing verification framework, the Agency sends inspectors to sites and locations only when needed," the IAEA chief said in the statement.

        The IAEA sticks to work independently in the nuclear investigation under the nuclear deal, while using some credible information which need to be rigorous assessed by the agency.

        He stressed the agency would not take any information without considering the credibility of the intelligence.

        "The Agency uses all safeguards relevant information available to it but it does not take any information at face value," he said, noting all information obtained, including from third parties, is subject to rigorous review and assessed together with other available information to arrive at an independent assessment based on the Agency's own expertise."

        Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Iran of holding a "secret atomic warehouse" during his speech at the UN conference on Thursday. He urged the IAEA to inspect the site.

        Iran on Friday denounced Netanyahu's allegations as "lies."

        Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on the "craft show" by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Iran's nuclear program cannot cover up Israel's secret nuclear weapons program.
