NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- American global investment management corporation BlackRock, Inc. will be honored by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) on Thursday at its annual gala dinner in New York City.

Laurence D. Fink, chairman and chief executive officer of the NYC-based firm, will accept the recognition at the event that will bring together more than 400 people, including business leaders, public officials, and senior Chinese diplomats.

"For fifty-two years, the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations has created programming to increase understanding between the peoples of both countries. At this difficult time in the relationship, we will increase our efforts to assure that our children live in a safer, more sustainable, and prosperous world," said NCUSCR President Stephen Orlins.

BlackRock, which views China as a strategic priority, has made achievements in China over the past decade, and its dynamic presence will continue to fortify the bilateral relationship going forward, according to NCUSCR.

Gala guests will enjoy a performance by noted jazz singer Jasmine Chen, fresh from her appearance in the summer blockbuster Crazy Rich Asians.

BlackRock managed 6.3 trillion U.S. dollars (as of June 30, 2018) in assets for clients in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa. It employs approximately 13,000 talented professionals across offices in more than 30 countries around the world.

The gala provides a significant source of support for the NCUSCR, a non-partisan and non-profit organization that seeks to promote better understanding between the United States and China by creating opportunities for informed dialogue regarding issues of critical bilateral and global importance.
