7.2-magnitude quake hits Peru: CENC

BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) -- A 7.2-magnitude earthquake jolted the area near central Peru at 16:50 (Beijing Time) Friday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 14.65 degrees south latitude and 70.15 degrees west longitude, the center said in an initial report.
