MADRID, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid's French international striker Antoine Griezmann has expressed his frustration at the rumors which once again point to him leaving the Spanish club over the summer.
The past two summers have seen Griezmann linked to a move away from Atletico, with FC Barcelona a possible destination. The forward kept supporters of both clubs on a knife-edge last summer before confirming he would sign a new deal with Atletico.
And the rumors were reignited after another frustrating season with the side coached by Diego Simeone, who let slip a 2-0 advantage to Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League, just five days before a 2-0 defeat in Bilbao left them 10 points behind Barca in the race for the Liga Santander title.
The buyout clause on Griezmann's contract with Atletico drops to 120 million euros on July 1 (about 136 million US dollars), which means that he would be relatively affordable in the current transfer market.
Speaking to the press after helping France to a 4-1 win over Iceland in their European Championship qualifying game on Tuesday night, Griezmann said he was "already used to this and fed up."
"It's the same story year after year," he complained.
Griezmann recently expressed his feelings for Atletico Madrid in a new documentary in which he said "I live the club. I adore my teammates and the boss (Simeone). It's incredible to see how much the boss and my teammates wanted me to stay. The club made a big effort to keep me and I am very happy to stay here."
