Charity festival opens to help sick, disabled children

BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- A charity event has opened in Beijing to attract public attention and care for children in difficult situations, such as autistic children, the disabled, and orphans.

The event consists of film exhibitions, academic forums, and painting exhibitions highlighting the difficult situations that some children in China face. Visitors can donate money to the children through a QR code made public at the event.

Kan Lijun, head of the China Foundation of Culture and Arts for Children, said the festival is aimed at increasing public attention to help these children.
