The 3,000-kilometer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which stretches from Kashgar in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to the Gwadar Port in Pakistan, serves as a significant channel to facilitate connections in road, rail, gas and optical fiber among countries along the corridor. The CPEC is a landmark project for China-Pakistan cooperation in the new era and an important pilot project for China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
