Scenery of flying fish seen over waterfall on Venta River in Latvia

Photo taken on April 26, 2019 shows the Venta Rapid, a wide waterfall on the Venta River in Kuldiga, Latvia. Every spring an unusual scenery of flying fish is seen over the waterfall here on Venta River. Going up the stream for breeding, the fishes need to cross the over 240 meters wide rapid. To achieve this challenge they jump in the air over and over again until finally they can continue their way upstream. (Xinhua/Janis Laizans)
