WASHINGTON, May 28 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump's senior advisor Jared Kushner is visiting the Middle East this week to seek the support of the long-overdue Middle East peace plan, U.S. media reported on Tuesday.

Kushner is leading a U.S. delegation on a trip to several capitals in the region this week, seeking support for the Middle East peace plan, U.S. media Axios reported, citing a senior White House official.

According to the report, Kushner arrived in the Moroccan capital Rabat on Tuesday morning. He will then visit Amman on Wednesday, meeting King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss Jordanian participation in the U.S.-led conference next month in Bahrain, which is seen as the economic portion of the plan, according to the report.

Kushner will also meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Thursday.

Jason Greenblatt, Trump's envoy for international negotiations, and Brian Hook, U.S. State Department's Iran envoy, are also joining Kushner on the trip, said media.

The White House announced earlier this month that the United States would unveil the first part of its Middle East peace plan at an economic workshop in Bahrain from June 25 to 26.

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on Sunday called on the world to boycott the economic workshop.

PLO Executive Committee's Secretary General Saeb Erekat said in a press statement that the Arab countries who agreed to join the workshop in Manama "have to reconsider their participation."

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates announced that they would join the conference next month to discuss the economic support to the Palestinians.

The PLO also called for holding an international conference under the umbrella of the United Nations with the participation of the permanent state members of the UN Security Council, the European Union and Arab states.
