BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- The following are the highlights of China's key technology news from the past week:

        REMOTE SENSING SATELLITES

China successfully sent a group of new remote sensing satellites into orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Friday.

The satellites have entered the planned orbits, and will be used for electromagnetic environment detection and related technological tests.

        PRIVATE COMMERCIAL CARRIER ROCKET

A carrier rocket developed by a Chinese private company successfully sent two satellites into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The SQX-1 Y1, developed by Beijing-based private rocket developer i-Space, is a four-stage small commercial carrier rocket.

        SATELLITE DATA IN FLOOD RELIEF

China has provided satellite data to assist India with its recent flood relief efforts, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said on Wednesday.

The CNSA launched the satellite emergency response plan early last Thursday, following the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO) request for international disaster relief support last Wednesday night, under the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters, said the Chinese space agency.

        MOBILE TERMINAL DEVICES

China's mobile communications sector posted a surging growth of diversified terminal devices with integrated functions in the first half of 2019, said a report released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).

A total of 711 new models of mobile communications terminals were launched in H1, with mobile phones accounting for 34.6 percent, according to the report.
