A school with only one teacher and six students: Wang Fuping devotes his life to rural education at Lyuliang Mountain areas in Shanxi, N China.
LIULIN, Sept. 6, 2019 (Xinhua) -- Located in Lyuliang Mountain areas of Shanxi Province, the Yangjiawa primary school is the only school here for children in the village.
Wang Fuping, 39, has been working as a rural teacher for 19 years at several rural primary schools. In 2007, Wang offered to teach at the Yangjiawa primary school when he learned the teacher here retired. Since then he has been the only teacher of the school. For the past 12 years, Wang Fuping has devoted himself to his work at the school, seeing several batches of students graduating.
There are only six students in the school now. Wang's perseverance helps students fulfill their thirst for knowledge. "I feel very satisfied to impart knowledge to the students. Study can change their life. I would like to stay here all my life." Wang said.
