Orange alert for drought issued in E China's Jiangxi

Aerial photo taken on Oct. 14, 2019 shows a shoal of the Ganjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province. An orange alert for drought is issued Monday in the east China's province as a response to decreasing precipitation. The water level of the Ganjiang River in the Nanchang section fell to 11.57 meters due to less rainfall. Average precipitation in the province stood at 96 mm from late July to early October, about 70 percent less than the average in the previous years. (Xinhua/Zhou Mi)
