BELGRADE, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Serbia celebrates each Chinese success and achievement, and looks forward to continuing strong cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Friday in his greetings for Chinese New Year.
"On behalf of the Republic of Serbia and myself, I wish to congratulate our brotherly and friendly Chinese people on the upcoming Chinese New Year," Vucic said in an interview with Xinhua.
Wishing well-being to the Chinese people as well as major progress and development in all areas of social life, he said the relations between Serbia and China are the best in the history of the two nations.
Vucic also expressed appreciation for China's "support for peace and stability, both in Serbia as well as in the whole world."
He said he believes the two countries will achieve a lot in the future together, and has confidence that China and its people have extraordinary strength and energy needed to maintain or improve the country's strong development.
"Serbia will invest a lot of energy and ambition into its participation in the Belt and Road Initiative with huge respect for the Chinese people," Vucic said.
